The Garden of Hope, Taiwan

The Garden of Hope Foundation is a non-government, non-profit group established in 1988 to help disadvantaged girls and young women.

In particular, we target girls caught in the sex industry, victims of sexual abuse and family violence. Many of our clients have been subjected to more than one form of abuse.
From one halfway house, our services have grown to include shelters and service centers island-wide providing everything from counseling and temporary housing, to employment training, social work and legal aid. This includes outreach programs for “at-risk” teenagers, services for immigrant spouses and family counseling.

The Garden of Hope contributes to research and government discussions on policy. This has included several key laws involving child welfare and women’s rights.

Our focus is on empowering girls and young women so that they can realize their full potential and take charge of their lives. We look to a future where girls and women are free from sexual exploitation, sexual abuse and domestic violence.”
