Po Leung Kuk was founded in 1878, and is one of the largest charitable organizations providing quality, professional and diversified social services in Hong Kong. We currently runs over 230 units throughout the Hong Kong Special Administration Region, providing welfare, educational, recreational and cultural services to the community.

Family Crisis Support Services
In tackling of domestic violence problems in Hong Kong, Po Leung Kuk is now operating three women shelters and the “Victim Support Programme for Victims of Family Violence” (Tsui Lam Centre) in the community.
Tsui Lam Centre
The Centre commenced service in 2010, which aims to alleviate feelings of fear and helplessness of victims who are facing case investigation, legal proceedings and sudden life changes through the provision of emotional support, information and companion services. In protection of child’s interest in families of domestic violence, the child visitation service was launched under Tsui Lam Centre to help children to rebuild and maintain good communication and contact with their parents so as to enhance parent-child relationships.
Refuge Centre for Women
The Three Po Leung Kuk Refuge Centres for Women, namely the Sunrise Court, Wai On Home and Dawn Court with a total capacity of 150, provide protection, short-term accommodation for women and their children who are in danger of domestic violence or crisis. Services included: 24-hour hotline and admission service, counseling, case management, daily life supportive services, after-care services, mutual help group for women and community education.
In order to provide a more timely assistance to the women in crisis, PLK has developed a Central Hotline 8100 1155 in 2012 for handling enquiries and case admission to women shelters.
